The traditional beginner's sequence of 26 postures, including warm-up postures, standing balances, and spine and floor series postures, along with 2 breathing exercises - one to prepare and one to finish. The goals of this sequence are many, beginning with health in the body and stillness in the mind. The sequence alternates actively held yoga postures with stillness. This system of active tension and release emphasizes relaxation between periods of focused effort. Instead of a flow or link of postures, there is a rhythm of holding and stillness that challenges endurance and over time cultivates strength and focus. Our Yoga Life Traditional Hot is in our infrared room, which means you get the healing benefits of infrared heat at the same time as the benefits of your yoga practice. This class is heated to between 100 and 105 degrees. Please remember to bring a towel and water, and be prepared to sweat - a lot.
