10 years ago Fran found herself in a Bikram yoga class after accumulating numerous foot, hip, shoulder, and neck injuries along with compressed spinal discs from running, life as a mom, and generally not being kind to her body. Within the first 2 weeks of practice, she couldn't believe how much better she felt yet also how much her body still needed to heal. She became an avid practitioner, devoted to the dialogue, and learned to listen to her body, keep a steady gaze, and quiet the chatter in her mind.
2 years ago she decided to leap into a 250-hour OHYA-certified teacher training program (The Hot Room Leadership Institute, Indianapolis) to deepen her practice, keep her aging body as healthy as possible, and share some of the insights she's gained with others. Students have told Fran is encouraging, and her voice is easy to listen to as she maintains great energy throughout class. She also takes the time to engage with students after class to offer additional insights into postures and help them grow in their practice and confidence.
Always looking to go deeper in her practice and teaching, in 2023 Fran attended an anatomy workshop with Gianna Purcell of 105F as well as a posture modification workshop with OHYA. She looks forward to serving the vibrant, fun YLC community in 2024!
